Summary Top

To enhance the value of the riverine environment by reducing the impact of pollution and litter. This will restore the aesthetic appeal of rivers and increase their amenity value to the community. It will be a Community-led scheme where voluntary river care groups ‘adopt’ stretches of river, survey them and undertake a series of environmental improvement works. Supported by trained project officers, volunteers carry out schemes including pollution monitoring, litter-clearance, habitat management, access improvements, flood defense works/soft revetments and awareness raising.
