Septentrion hopes to attract 20000 visitors on 28 and 29 April «  Back

Various activities, visits, conferences, exhibitions, cultural events… will be proposed in 25 cities of the Masse and Schelde water basin territory. After having welcomed more than 15 000 visitors last year, the organisers hope to reach 20 000 in 2007, which also marks the 300 year commemoration of the death of Vauban, the “European engineer” (1707).

After four years of fruitful collaboration among the 23 partners, numerous investments were achieved, such as the ones on the photos. The city 'S-Hertogenbosch reproduced an herbal bastion in order to remember the stone walls erased by the urban expansion. In Gravelines , an entire covered road was renewed with innovative techniques, and adapted in order to be visitor friendly.
