Europe in the Regions : The Press are keen to be informed

At the town hall of Zierikzee, Province of Zeeland in The Netherlands, a press information meeting was held on January 22d, 2004.
In the presence of various press institutions, local and national watersport magazines, the Deputee Mr. G.L.C.M. de Kok of the Province of Zeeland, explained the regional investment activities, related to MAYA2 and stated the importance of these for the intended impulse towards regional watersport and tourist industry .
An overview of the total MAYA2 activities, in which the Province of Zeeland is acting as a lead-partner, was given by Mr. Peters, project manager.
The three regional partners that are located in Zeeland (the commune of Sluis, Schouwen-Duiveland and Tholen) also gave a presentation about the status of their actions.
At the end of the meeting, members of the press and representatives of the authorities were appreciative of the opportunity for informal discussion.
